Lancaster CC Salt Ayre - Time Trials Starting 5 March 2015

Starting Thursday 5th March - Lancaster Cycling Club – Time Trials (LCC TT’s)
During the last few years increasing numbers of Cog Set members have been experiencing the challenge of a Time Trial at Salt Ayre .

Due to the increased popularity of this event and the fact that we now have lighting at the track the TT’s are starting a month earlier on 5th March at 7pm and continuing every Thursday evening until 24th September.

This year the 2 and 6 mile time trials will be run, as usual, first on the evening but are limited to under 16's – with an entry fee of £2 per rider

Over 16s who want to ride the shorter distance time trials will be included in the Lancaster CC time trial (otherwise known as the 10). If they have entered in advance via Teamer etc they will be put at the start of the field but otherwise they will enter where there are spaces on the start list. The timing mechanism will record the times; 2, 6 or 10 miles. All entrants in the LCC event regardless of distance will pay £4.50 per ride to cover the CTT levy, lighting charges and track usage charges. For full details of the changes please visit : http://www.lancastercc.co.uk/index.php/item/131-time-trialling-at-salt-ayre Please note – you must renew your CS membership prior to taking part in the TT’s – this can be done on the night or online using the BC link emailed out recently.

If you take part in the TT’s we need YOU to sign up for Marshalling duties too.
Please go to http://vols.pt/WAVqPg to volunteer to help, or contact Tim Norton at tim.norts@virgin.net.

We also need help covering the Cog Set TT registration and refreshments on the following 3 dates : 19th & 26th March and 2nd April. If you can help please email carmenjackson@tiscali.co.uk or tel/text 07864 969514.

For those of you who haven't done them before this is a race against the clock and your own previous best time. Each rider sets off on his or her own and rides as fast as they can over a distance of 2, 6 or 10 miles - you choose. Download Salt Ayre Time Trial Notes - 2015 where you will find some information about the rides - it is VERY IMPORTANT that you read all of the information as this tells you how to register and what is expected.

It is a great way to gauge your fitness and a way of competing without the hurly-burly of a bunch race. Please note, however, that all youth riders MUST have a signed CTT Parental Consent form before being allowed to ride.

If you are an adult and fancy having a go I am sure that Lancaster CC would welcome your membership. Download a Lancaster CC - Membership form - for Adults here

Entries on the day will still be accepted, but would prefer entries in advance if possible.
